The choice is yours

When it comes to the General Election, in May, the choice for voters in Paisley and Renfrewshire South couldn’t be more stark. On the one hand we’ve got Labour’s Douglas Alexander - a hard-working, local, national and international politician who has held highest office in Government and cares about issues that really matter to the people he represents. The alternative is the SNP candidate, Mhairi Black whose claim to fame has been telling nationalist supporters at a rally how she felt like “putting the nut” on Labour councillors. Then using social media to tell everyone that “I really f***** hate Celtic”. Not content with this, she goes on to reveal on Twitter what she reckons a good night out is by Tweeting: “Woke up beside half a can of Tennents and a full pizza and more money than I came out with. I call that a success!” So there you have it. Despite widespread publicity and condemnation of Mhairi Black’s disgraceful behaviour, the SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon refuses to dump her as the SNP candidate in Paisley and Renfrewshire South. The electorate in Paisley and Renfrewshire South must be asking do we really want Mhairi Black – with her very public and regular use of swear words - as our MP? The choice is yours – to vote for Labour’s experienced and respected family man Douglas Alexander, who takes action on the issues that really matter to our lives, or his challenger who just loves waking up to half-a-can of lager and a cold pizza.
