Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman and Irish singer Sinead O’Connor
both suffer from Fibromyalgia but not a lot of people are aware of that or
indeed what the condition is. Unfortunately it is the same for people in our
own community here in Renfrewshire. But one group of hard working people are
trying to change all that and raise awareness of the widespread condition that
can change families lives as victims struggle to cope with chronic pain and
fatigue along with other debilitating symptoms. The Fibromyalgia Paisley and
Inverclyde Network (Fibro PaIN) are holding a charity fashion show with the
backing of Matalan in Linwood on Sunday, September 6 as part of Fibromyalgia
Awareness Week which runs until September 13. Tickets cost £5 for the show
which starts at 7pm as well as refreshments. I’m told there’s a 10% discount on
anything bought on the night. This group and what they do deserves so much more
support so if you’re free why not go along and enjoy the catwalk show. If you’d
like to know more about Fibro PaIN then you can visit their website at www.paisleyfm.org.
