No one can deny Alex Salmond put his mark on Scottish politics. Unfortunately for him, he has paid the price of his failure to deliver the sole reason for the SNP's existence - independence. Now that Scots have voted decisively in the Referendum, hopefully we can now concentrate on improving the lives of ordinary Scots and the vital services on which we all depend.
