It’s hands up from Hugh for volunteers

Volunteers can change lives just by giving up a couple of hours a week and contributing their time, skills and care can also have a positive impact on their own health, well being and personal development. Volunteer Scotland’s Trustees’ Week kicks off today and I was delighted to join the early celebrations at the Scottish Parliament. The week is held every November and it seeks to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference. This year marks Volunteer Scotland’s 30th anniversary as the national body for volunteering, promoting the value and worth of volunteers. I would urge anyone looking to fill any of their free time to look into volunteering opportunities in Renfrewshire. You can find out more at www.volunteerscotland.org.uk or contact Engage Renfrewshire on 0141 887 7707.
