Missing People

It is impossible to imagine the nightmare of a child, son, daughter, husband, wife, grandchild or any member of your family going missing. But every two minutes right here in the UK someone just disappears and their families are left heartbroken, desperate and struggling to cope. Not knowing what happened to a loved one must be an unbearable struggle. So I am pleased that Royal Mail has joined forces with Missing People, a charity specialising in reuniting missing people with their families and was happy to put forward a motion in the Scottish Parliament praising the move. Some 124,000 postmen and women, including those right here in Renfrewshire, will  receive Child Rescue and High Risk Missing People Alerts on their handheld scanners as well as appearing on the Royal Mail’s employee website and where possible, on 1,800 television screens across its offices.  If you’re worried about a missing person you can call or text 116 000 for free.
