Flu fightback

The return of the miserable weather signals a good reminder that it’s best to be prepared and follow the NHS advice to ‘beat the bugs’ this winter. Seasonal flu can be a very serious illness and it can have serious consequences for those most at risk. People aged over-65, those with underlying health conditions and pregnant women are all eligible and encouraged to receive a free flu jab to protect themselves over the winter months. The NHS advises that it’s best to get the vaccine sooner rather than later so it’s a good idea to make an appointment with your GP practice as soon as possible if this is something you or someone you know could benefit from.
