Johnstone Railway Station

It was great to learn that my constituents who travel by train are in line to enjoy a new bigger car park which will be taking shape at Johnstone Railway Station over the next few months. The work, which started on Monday (17 November), will see an extra 80 spaces being created taking the  number of parking bays up from 335 to 415. This is good news for commuters and will help support the growing number of passengers from all over Renfrewshire opting to park and ride at Johnstone. While the improvement scheme is underway parking spaces will have to be reduced by about a third although all Blue Badge spaces will remain. I think it is a small price to pay for the end result and I hope travellers will understand and be patient until it is finished around April next year.
